How do I save a recipe from Instagram or TikTok?
From Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, tap Share then Mijote (on iPhone), or paste the link in the app. Mijote reads the post and pulls out the title, ingredients and steps. A screenshot works too.
What about a cooking blog, an old notebook, a recipe someone tells you?
Link
Paste the address of any recipe website: Mijote keeps the recipe, without the ads and the life story around it, plus a link to the source.
Photo
Snap a cookbook, a handwritten notebook or screenshots: the text is read and shaped up.
Voice
Dictate the recipe, up to 3 minutes: Mijote transcribes and files it.
By hand
Type the recipe yourself, step by step.
What does Mijote do with the recipe?
Every card completes itself: prep and cooking time, estimated cost, seasons, tags (vegetarian, quick, comfort food…). An illustration is generated so you can spot each dish at a glance. You can edit everything and swap the image for your own photos.
Can I share my recipes with my family?
Yes. Invite whoever you like to your cookbook, as a member (adds and edits) or a guest (read-only): the recipes are the same on every phone. A single recipe can also be sent by link: it opens with no account and nothing to install, and can be kept in their own cookbook in one tap. You can have several cookbooks (family, friends…).
How do I find a recipe again?
By craving (quick, vegetarian, in season, desserts…) or with filters: ingredient, time, cost, diet, dish type. While you cook, the screen stays awake.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mijote free?
Yes: unlimited recipes and imports, no ads, no subscription. Two optional one-time purchases: packs of generated illustrations beyond the free ones (from $2.99 / €2.99), and Mijote+, the advanced version (shopping list, favorites, notes, servings, translation, units).
Do I need an account?
No. You can even try a demo cookbook before creating your own. An optional recovery email lets you get your cookbook back on a new phone.
Does Mijote work on Android?
The Android app isn't on the Play Store yet. In the meantime, Mijote works in the browser of any phone or computer, and can be added to the home screen.
Can I import recipes from Instagram, TikTok and Facebook?
Yes: share the post to Mijote (on iPhone) or paste its link. Mijote reads the caption and turns it into a recipe card. If the recipe isn't written in the post, a screenshot or voice dictation takes over.
Can I plan my meals and make a shopping list?
Yes, with Mijote+: put the recipes you want to cook on your meal plan, with a day if you like. The shopping list writes itself: ingredients are added up and sorted by aisle, and you tick them off at the store.
Which languages?
English and French: the app follows your phone's language. Recipes stay in their original language; with Mijote+, you can translate them into yours.
Can I get my recipes out?
Yes, at any time, from the app: export to PDF (one recipe per page) or to a CSV spreadsheet (one row per recipe).
Who makes Mijote?
Mijote is made by Anthony Kocken, an independent developer, and has been on the App Store since May 2026. No investors, no ads: the app is funded by its developer and by the optional purchases.
